Easy and safe access to pools for people with mobility limitations

Different abilities need different solutions for different activities. Our range of assistive technology allows freedom and independence for those with specific lifting, mobility and access requirements to live a more independent life.

This is especially important when it comes to accessing swimming pools in leisure centres, community centres, aged care homes, or private residences. Whether for therapy or relaxation, our range of aquatic disability equipment allows easy, dignified access to the water for everybody.

Our range of Australian-made pool hoists, pool steps and aquatic wheelchairs are designed with safety and comfort in mind for users and carers. Our range of disability equipment is designed to be easily, moved, folded and stored away when not in use.

Para Mobility’s solutions make transporting people with disabilities safer, more convenient and more comfortable. Our unique understanding of the specific lifting requirements for those with a disability means we are continually expanding our product offering.

Quality and compliance underpins everything we do. Our products are built to Australian Standards, are ISO compliant and can be installed to meet Australian Building Codes. As a registered NDIS provider we can support access to various funding.

Quality disability products for pool access

Our team is passionate about innovation and designing high quality solutions that enable participation for all Australians.

The Pelican Pool Hoist allows access to above and below ground spas, swimming and hydrotherapy pools without any manual lifting. Designed and manufactured in Australia and tested in accordance with ASA 3581, the hoist complies with the Disability Discrimination Act (Access to Premises – Buildings) under Australian Building Codes.

Suitable for use in public pools, leisure centres, private homes, nursing homes and schools, it can be mobile or fixed permanently at the edge of the water.

The Kingfisher Pool Access Seat allows dignified access to pools for people with hip or knee issues, or people with a temporary or permanent injury. Designed in consultation with occupational therapists, the Kingfisher Pool Access Seat is a simple and safe user-operated device that is easily secured to the pool deck.

The innovative design of the Platypus Pool Steps is ideal for anyone unable to use traditional vertical swimming pool ladders. Older people, pregnant women, young swimmers or people with arthritis will find the steps easy and safe to use for pool entry and exit. Constructed from stainless steel hand rails, corrosion-resistant HDPE plastic treads and sides, the Platypus Pool Steps require no deck modifications or alterations.

The Platypus Pool and Wet Area Chairs are lightweight, rustproof, self-propelled wheel chairs designed to be fully immersed in salt, chlorinated or fresh water. The Platypus model is for use on ground and ramps while the Pelican model includes a strengthening frame and lifting straps to be used in conjunction with the Pelican Pool Hoist.

Both models are designed for comfort, safety and practicality, and are easily and safely self-propelled. Solid tyres will never go flat, and wheels have brakes on each side for added safety.

The IBIS Portable Car Access Lifter system allows people with disabilities to be seated in the front passenger seat of most cars, 4WDs and the side entry of vans and caravans. Simply operated with a press button by the user or carer, the system allows transfer from wheelchair to the vehicle without any lifting.

The IBIS Hinge Adapter Bracket is a custom-made optional extra that attaches to the hinges of the car door, eliminating the need for permanent car modifications.
