Occasionally, a brake fastener may loosen over time through regular use. This is not a common occurrence and can generally be addressed quickly.
If you notice that a brake has become loose, we recommend applying a small amount of Blue Loctite threadlocker to the end of the bolt thread before securely refastening the locking nut.
Blue Loctite provides additional holding strength while still allowing the fastener to be removed in the future if the brake requires servicing or replacement. Allow at least 1 hour for initial curing and 24 hours for maximum strength before returning the wheelchair to normal use.
If you would prefer assistance, Para Mobility can arrange for a technician to attend and service the wheelchair. Standard service charges apply.
What if my aquatic wheelchair is still under warranty?
If your wheelchair is within its warranty period and you believe the brake requires repair, please refer to the warranty information.
Your aquatic wheelchair can be returned to Para Mobility for assessment and repair, alternatively, you can arrange for an onsite technician appointment. Onsite service fees apply, with all eligible replacement parts covered under warranty.
If you are unsure which option is right for you, please get in touch with our friendly team and they will help advise.
