Kobie Clarke, 21, was the first to take a dip in the indoor heated pool yesterday using the hoist. The hoist is operated by a press button hand switch with a capacity of 150kg, so no manual lifting is required. It has a 360 degree swivel capability and can be used with a floating sling, plastic seat, strengthened wet wheelchair or a spinal board. While Kobie has spina bifida, he is a keen swimmer and has visited the pool once a week throughout the past three summers. Pictured Pelican Pool Hoist & Aquatic Chair.
